Quick and Easy Chicken Gyros Recipe
- 300g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 6g Greek Souvlaki Seasoning
- 1/2 red onion, cut into chunks
- 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
- Olive oil, for frying
- Skewers, soaked in water if wooden
For serving:
- Garlic and herb flatbreads or pita bread
- Lettuce or salad greens
- Tzatziki sauce
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces with the Spicentice Greek Souvlaki Seasoning. Mix well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated.
- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pan and set it aside. In the same pan, add the onion and bell pepper chunks. Sauté for a few minutes until they are slightly softened.
- Thread the chicken, onion, and bell pepper alternately onto skewers.
- Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until nicely charred and the vegetables are tender.
- While the skewers are cooking, warm up the garlic and herb flatbreads or pita bread in a pan or on the grill.
- Serve the chicken skewers with the warmed flatbreads, lettuce or salad greens, and tzatziki sauce on the side.
- Enjoy your delicious Greek chicken souvlaki!
Note: You can also marinate the chicken in the seasoning for a more intense flavor. Simply combine the chicken and seasoning in a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight before cooking.
