Quick and Easy Chicken Gyros Recipe

  • 300g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 6g Greek Souvlaki Seasoning
  • 1/2 red onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • Olive oil, for frying
  • Skewers, soaked in water if wooden

For serving:

  • Garlic and herb flatbreads or pita bread
  • Lettuce or salad greens
  • Tzatziki sauce

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces with the Spicentice Greek Souvlaki Seasoning. Mix well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated.
  2. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pan and set it aside. In the same pan, add the onion and bell pepper chunks. Sauté for a few minutes until they are slightly softened.
  4. Thread the chicken, onion, and bell pepper alternately onto skewers.
  5. Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until nicely charred and the vegetables are tender.
  6. While the skewers are cooking, warm up the garlic and herb flatbreads or pita bread in a pan or on the grill.
  7. Serve the chicken skewers with the warmed flatbreads, lettuce or salad greens, and tzatziki sauce on the side.
  8. Enjoy your delicious Greek chicken souvlaki!

Note: You can also marinate the chicken in the seasoning for a more intense flavor. Simply combine the chicken and seasoning in a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight before cooking.
